Thank you Phoenix @Books With Wings for tagging me. This is certainly going to be interesting. Also thank you to erin @ Reading On A Star for creating these questions. Snow day: What's your favorite comfort book? I reread a lot, so this is going to be interesting. I think that it would be Wonder by RJ Palacio. I first read this book in fourth grade when it was first published. I have read it so many times since then and I still have the first publication of the book. A few years ago, my aunt got me a personalized autographed copy of Wonder. I haven't even touched that book since I got it. I have so many memories of this book and I'm very proud of the fact I have the first publication. Snow angels: What's a book you love so much you would want to be buried with it (a little morbid, but...)? This is a very hard question. I think it would be Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. I love this book so much. I loved the writing and the mystery behind it. Just the overall theme of the book was amazing. I loved the fact that it made you think about what life would be like if we lived forever on earth. This is also an interesting book to take to my grave because it deals with living forever. Warm socks: What's a book that makes you feel warm inside? (The fluffiest, cutest romance you've ever read?) Wow. Compared to the last question this is easy. Wait a moment, never mind. I usually don't read romances, but I think that it would be Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. It was sooo cute and adorable. I was rooting for Cath and Levi the whole time and I loved the way the story went. It was fluffy and when I read this book it makes me feel warm inside. Hot cocoa: What winter themed novels have you previously read? I don't usually read winter themed books, but I'll have to say What Light by Jay Asher. I don't really remember much about this book other than the fact it was boring and nothing like Thirteen Reasons Why. But I rest my case... Sledding: What's a book with the best plot twists? Who's an author who always keeps you on your toes? This is a very funny question. I have to say All This Time by Nikki Daughtry and Rachael Lippincott. I'm not easy to surprise, but this really blew me away. It started out pretty good and then it went and turned on me. It nearly destroyed me. If Marley was real, I would strangle her and bring her back to life. As you can tell I really like this book and I highly recommend it for fans of Five Feet Apart. Ugly sweaters: What's a book with the ugliest cover? Hands down, it's Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer. What's the point of that cover? It has nothing to do with the book. I hated that book with every fiber of my being and the cover didn't help at all. Movie Marathon: What's the last book you binge read? Since my Christmas book haul, I've been doing a lot of binge reading. I have to say They Both Die at The End. The book grabbed me from the beginning and would not let me go. I read this book while in quarantine and I could not stop sobbing. I loved every moment of that book except for the end. I can't even think about that book without tearing up. I really hate the author right now. Letter to Santa: What's a book on your wishlist this year The Cruel Prince. I tried to read this book last year in the middle of a reading slump. I only got 60 pages into it and it made me really sad because this book had been on a six week hold. I really want to reread it again and hope for the best that it's really good. Talk to me. Have you read any of these books? Did you think they were any good?

This book is truly one of the best books I have ever read. It's been 200 years after Cinderella has died and the kingdom still stands. Every year, there is a ball for all of the women in the kingdom to remember Cinderella and to find a husband. Sophia is different. She would rather marry her best friend, Erin, than marry any boy. Her parents have told her that no one needed to know about her liking girls instead of boys, well, that backfired. Sophia hates the rules set up for her kingdom and she just wants to live her own life. She realizes that she can't do this on her own. During the ball, she runs away and finds herself in Cinderella's secret garden. She meets Constance, the last remaining relative of Cinderella. She quickly finds out the true value of love and friendship.
This book to me represents today's society. In today's world, we see women treated as less and people getting kicked out of their homes for being LGBTQIAP. This book takes on the main problems of today's world and it is beautifully done. The rep in this book is amazing. I love the fairy tale retelling of the novel, it's actually one of the best fairy tale retellings I've ever read. I loved the characters. Sophia wants to be a strong woman without some man always needing to rescue her. She doesn't want to hide her feelings and often gets scolded by her parents because of it. Constance was interesting. Her personality traits are amazing, especially since she's related to one of the stepsisters. She shows us that nothing will stand in her way and she will always fight for the truth. The plot was pretty good. The world building was amazing, no info dumps. It never really got too slow, it just kept going and never wavered. The plot twists I did not see coming until the clues were all put together. I really enjoyed the retelling and it just really blew me away. One thing I didn't like about it was the title. I understood it, but it didn't really make sense to me. Tell me about it. Have you read Cinderella is Dead? Did you enjoy it? Did you see any problems with the book? Until next time, Ollie Hello and welcome to my blog Ollie's Corner. Reading is a huge passion of mine and I'm glad to share it with you. Reading means the world to me and I hope you can enjoy it too. My book range has started to expand, so I'm now getting into the more popular YA books.
This might not be a popular opinion, but the book series that got me into YA was Matched by Ally Condie. I know it's basic YA, it has a love triangle, a dystopian government, and a rebellion. I still enjoy the novels even though I've started getting into other YA books. One book series I could never finish was The Lunar Chronicles. I know, unpopular opinion. I could never finish the series because the plot never really grabbed me from the beginning. It was truly heart breaking, but maybe one day I'll have to try again. I'm full of unpopular opinions today. One of my favorite book series is Gone by Michael Grant. A lot of people I know have never even heard of it. It has a lot of rep including a black lesbian and a Muslim. I loved the thrills of this book and it was fun to read. This book series has seven books, but it's totally worth it. Truly, this is quite an interesting mix of books, but I'm not finished yet. One book series I have yet to read is Keeper of the Lost Cities. I've been meaning to read for a while now, but my Christmas book haul has kept me fairly busy. I've heard some mixed reviews about Keeper of the Lost Cities so this should be interesting. Talk to me. What are your opinions on some of these books? What do you think about the unpopular opinions? Well, until next time Ollie |
